Slingshot PDG innovated with Huber Engineered Woods to develop a new generation of industrial grade Tape Applicators. Slingshot's industrial designers developed prototype concepts that provided solutions to the ethnography and front end research conducted around use scenarios for the tape applicator. The team gathered feedback from the client and end user while incorporating anthropometrics to develop a manufacturing-ready design.
After executing a DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis), the Slingshot PDG team coordinated manufacturing with one of their overseas partners to generate tooling and begin sampling parts. During the pre-production run, Slingshot worked together with Huber for quality control testing and setting up a QC/QA plan in compliance with AQL (Acceptance Quality Level) standards for mass production. Slingshot's vertically integrated expertise resulted in a successful product innovation and launch for the client.
